Mr. Philip Thomas/Diocesan Treasurer
Mr. Philip Thomas, a member of the Mar Thoma Church of Dallas, Farmers Branch is originally from Mannakunnil House, Kumbanad and later his parents settled down at Pampady, Kottayam. He served MTC Dallas, FB in various positions as Trustee, Vice President, Convener for Family Retreat, Convener of Mar Thoma Fest, a fund raising project for the mission activities of the parish. At present he is serving as the Mission Coordinator for the MTC Dallas, Farmers Branch, responsible for coordinating the various mission activities of the parish including India Mission, Neighborhood Mission, Mexico Mission and Native American Mission. He immigrated to the United States in 1976 and lived in Detroit until he moved to Dallas in 1980. He is married to Molly Thomas from Pattasseril family, Kottayam and they have two children Manoj and Maya. Manoj is married to Jaime and they have a son, Clark Philip Thomas and are members of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Lombard, Illinois. Maya is married to Jason and they reside in Boston, MA.
Mr. Philip Thomas received the degree of Master of Business Administration from the University of Detroit, Michigan in 1979 and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Dallas since early 1980s. He served as the Audit Manager for the County of Dallas for about sixteen years and was Financial Officer for the office of the Dallas County Clerk for about eight years. He is teaching as a professor of Accountancy at Brookhaven College, Farmers Branch, Dallas for the past 20 years.
